Italy – Sardinia (May/June 2018)
Last week I celebrated my bday and I really wanted to make sure that it is a sunny warm day. Some of you may not know, but I live in Ireland, which means I have to escape to ensure predictable weather. This time I chose Sardinia. Some quick tips based on our experience there, that I wish I knew before our trip: best time to visit is June or September (25-28 °C), unless you enjoy crowds and scorching temperatures around July & August if you have just a few days, spend your time in the region around Olbia (fly to Olbia airport) if you have ~ 1 week, spend them…

Latvia – Riga (May 2018)
My friend who lives in London and I have this tradition in which each year we meet in a different city in Europe (in which we both haven’t been to before). This year it was Riga 🙂 She also loves to walk a lot so I prep for a 10h daily walk when I see her. We stayed at hotel Edvards which was super good quality and price (55eur per double room per night) and centrally located, with good breakfast included. Day 1: Art cafe Kolekcionars, ESPA Riga, Galerija Centrs As my friend was only going to arrive in the evening, I decided to spend the day eating good food,…

Spain – Ibiza (April 2018)
We found a good deal via Ryanair fare finder feature of 60euro return tickets to Ibiza so we decided to go for a long weekend 🙂 I really needed some relaxation in this period and so far I think it was a great idea. We are not party people with my bf so we went for a relaxed vacation instead. We took an apart in Portinatx in the north as we were afraid of Ibiza town crazy parties, but actually regretted it as the town is amazing and is much more than parties. Maybe in the summer months is packed but end of April is good to stay in the…

United States – Hawaii – Big Island (Feb’18)
We arrived at Big Island, Kona yesterday and so far this place has exceeded all expectations. Day 1: Kahaluu beach park We arrived at noon, rented a car, had amazing poke ball at “On the rocks” then headed to this beach for snorkeling. Day 2: Kua Bay, Akaka waterfall, Rainbow waterfall, 4mile beach, Richardson beach, Hilo, Mauna Kea As you can tell today was a lot of driving so we are super tired, but delighted to have seen so many wonderful things. We ate at Hawaii style cafe in Hilo, went to the farmers market there as well as saw about 10 sea turtles near the shore at the richardson…

Iceland (March’18)
Thursday at lunch time we found a very good deal with Easyjet flying from Belfast and an okish priced hotel so we decided to fly Friday morning to Iceland. We’ve been having it in our bucket list for a while now. We stayed 10-15min by car south of Reykjavik at the Viking hotel, which turned out to be a good decision (~100eur/night), given that we booked a day before traveling. We of course rented a car from the airport, as most of what Iceland has to offer (nature, etc.) is outside the capital. Day 1: Raufarholsshellir lava tunnel & Reykjadalur hotsprings The lava tube cave entrance was around 50 eur…

United States – California – Tahoe & Pinnacles Park (Feb’18)
I came to California for work for a couple weeks and I decided to make the most out of the weekends here and explore new places as well as take a week off in Hawaii. Tip nr. 1: out of the 3 airports I know of in the Bay area (San Fran, San Jose and Oakland), the latter had the best flight deals. Skiing in Tahoe We arrived to Heavenly ski resort this Friday and skied all day yesterday and it was amazing! Best ski day of my life 🙂 The ski lift is kind of pricy 146$ and so is ski rental but we found an excellent deal &…

Italy – North (Dec’17)
On Dec 28 I flew to Venice to visit 4 different places in Northern Italy. Venice We had a wonderful time as it was my first time in Venice; it was so beautiful with all the Christmas lights.. Turin This is a city I would consider living in (for 6 months to 1 year), as it has the Alps nearby, it is close to France and Switzerland and it has one of the best dark hot chocolate in the world (a culture for good quality chocolate). I also enjoyed the local Bicerin drink: a mix between Expresso and Chocolate. Tip: try the “8 3/4” pizzeria, you won’t regret it 🙂…

Spain – Gran Canaria (Nov 2017)
Today I decided to start travel blogging. I started with a few posts a few years back, but seeing the amount of travel blogging, I realized mine is no different. However, I also came to realize recently that I do travel more than average and so might come up with tips for other travellers or will even keep this as stories for my future kids 🙂 My job being a project manager, I love planning trips and researching hotels, flights and places to see as much as I enjoy the trip itself. My tips: Choose location of the hotel carefully because of: weather (south is supposed to be slightly warmer…
