Amalfi Coast & Naples, Italy (May 2019)
What kind of destination is it? Amalfi coast is mainly a romantic couples destination. The high nr. of stairs makes is a bit more challenging for those with mobility issues or families with kids, but it’s still doable if you prepare. It’s also not necessarily a beach destination, but there are beaches in many villages on the coast, like Praiano, Positano, Amalfi, Atrani, Amalfi, Capri. Also, Naples is a fast paced city where people drive like crazy, so don’t expect a French Riviera relaxed kind of experience; Amalfi coast, on the contrary is rather relaxed. When should I go? Best time of the year to visit the Amalfi coast is…

Living in Dublin and visiting Ireland (2014-2018)
It’s a rainy day here in Zurich so it seems like the perfect moment to write that blog post about Country nr. 8, Ireland, where I spent the first 4.5 years of my life after finishing my Masters degree in The Netherlands. I’m also coming back to Dublin for work soon for a few days, after 6 months since I moved from there and I promised my new colleagues I’ll give them some inspiration for places to visit & food to try:) I’ll start with some pros and cons of my life there, the way I experienced it (working for an international tech company in my mid 20s). PROS: Dublin…

Ticino – Switzerland and lake Como – Italy (April 2019)
Dear travel lovers, we spent last weekend in Ticino and Como lake area, which we very much enjoyed. I hope you find useful my travel tips below 🙂 When should I visit I would say April to October, as to many other places in Europe (unless you are going for a ski trip). You can of course go all year long. How can I get there The easiest way is to fly to Milan, then take a train (trenitalia.com) or rent a car (we usually use skyscanner.com or arguscarhire.com). How long should I stay I would recommend 4-6 days, based on your travelling style and how much you like to…

Lyon (April 2019)
Lyon holds a special place in my life, as I did my Bachelor’s degree there, which brings some bitter sweet memories from my student life (will share more in my “Living in 9 countries by the age of 28” articles series). After 7 years, seeying Lyon through the eyes of a tourist brought only good impressions and made me appreciate it more. Regarding public transport, I recommend either buying 10 tickets that cost around 17eur and last for 1h each, getting a day pass for 6eur, and/or using the public bikes (velov) at 4eur per day (but you have to change them every 30min to avoid additional costs). Below are…

Morocco (October 2018)
Last week I visited my first country on the African continent which was super exciting. I grew up watching a series called The Clone filmed in Morocco which really made me curious about the culture of this country and Morocco did non disappoint indeed. I was fascinated by the place, the variety of landscape and intrigued by the bargaining culture :)) Before you travel drones are illegal and they will be confiscated at airport, do NOT bring with you (ours was taken, RIP dronie) wear clothes covering your shoulders & knees pork and alcohol are not common as this is mainly a muslim/islamic country, but some places serve alcohol book…

Spain – Costa Brava (August 2018)
We went to Costa Brava recently, so here is a quick overview of our trip with places we liked (I am trying a new format this time – instead of Day 1,2,3, I am structuring the tips based on categories: places to visit, beaches, restaurants). Main tip: we stayed at Rosamar hotel near Palamos, but if I had to redo the trip I’d stay in Cadaques town as it is one of the most beautiful beach towns I have ever been in. It reminded me a little bit of Santorini. Places to visit: Cadaques town (my favourite place by far, I would choose accommodation there next time!) Salvador Dali museum…

Moldova (August 2018)
This will be a short one, as I have already written an article on Moldova. I wanted to share some places to visit, restaurants that I liked and some wedding traditions as I’ve recently been home. My top places to visit in Moldova (so far): Milestii Mici winery -> biggest underground wine cellar in the world (book in advance on their website/via email; 30min drive from Chisinau) – I have also been to Cricova winery, but the customer experience, wines from the tasting package and food was better at Milestii Mici Orheiul vechi historical and archeological complex/monasteries & Butuceni restaurant (1h drive from Chisinau) Restaurants in Chisinau (the capital): Gastrobar, Osho, Acasa…

United States – Colorado (July 2018)
I went for a business trip at our Boulder office last week and also stayed for the weekend to visit some of the sights in the area. We visited Boulder, Rocky mountains & Bear lake (~1h drive from Boulder) and Chatauqua park (near Boulder). The highlights of the trip included: chipmunks, a gother/groundhog, an elk, some rabbits and a deer 🙂 We also visited the Devils Thumb Ranch which had great outdoors activities such as: hiking, horse back riding, ziplining, archery, etc. Finally because no trip is a proper trip without a food coma, we ate at the Med (Boulder center), which turned out to be a wonderful place for…

Romania – Brasov (July 2018)
We were invited at wedding a couple weeks back in Transylvania, in a beautiful town in the middle of the Romanian mountains called Brasov (2h drive from Bucharest, the capital). I have been there a few times on school trips, as well as with my family once, but I was curious to see how the city changed. We only had a few hours to stroll around due to the wedding. We ate at La Ceaun which had good traditional food and then I had some Middle Eastern desserts on the main shopping street (not a big fan of Papanash, which is the Romanian desert so went for Baklava instead :D).…

France – Nice (June 2018)
This weekend we celebrated the bachelorette party of one of my friends with a group of 6 girls. We decided to go for Nice as we heard Nice has it all: beach, parties, beautiful narrow streets, good food, etc. After 2 days in Nice I have to say it did not disappoint and even exceeded expectations 🙂 My advice is to take accommodation close to old town (we rented a lovely airbnb near Rene Socca restaurant where you should absolutely try their Soccas). Day 1 We started with brunch at Marinette. They had this lovely granola, yogurt, honey and red fruits combo as well as pancakes and good coffees. We…
